Times Square retailers (and angry New York Post columnists) are anxiously awaiting word on whether the city will end its pedestrian plaza experiment, make the plazas permanent, or somehow reconfigure them. The car-free Broadway bonanza began last May and was supposed to expire this year. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade route also hangs in the balance until the city makes a decision.
